Overview

This programme covers the study of technologies that handle information and enable communication. A key feature is the incorporation of industry certification courses as part of the curriculum. Students are provided with both a strong theoretical foundation as well as industry-relevant skills in the various technologies related to ICT.

Students in this programme are automatically members of the Singapore Computer Society Student Chapter.

Students may pursue Infocomm Technology as a single subject or in combination with a Military Studies or a Security Studies Minor.

Programme Structure

BSc Information and Communication Technology
Students are required to complete a total of 130 credit units (cu) to graduate with a basic degree, inclusive of 10 cu of SUSS core courses.

The breakdown of the cu to be completed is:

  • 90 cu of Compulsory courses;
  • 30 cu of Elective courses (can be up to 10 cu of General Elective courses); and
  • 10 cu of SUSS core courses.

BSc Information and Communication Technology with Minor
Students are required to complete a total of 130 credit units (cu) to graduate with a basic degree, inclusive of 10 cu of SUSS core courses.

The curriculum is structured such that:

  • Level 1 courses consist of computer architecture and programming courses.
  • Level 2 courses consist of further programming courses, and subject area courses in operating system, computer network, data management, and information system courses, as well as industry certification courses from Oracle and Redhat.
  • Level 3 courses consist of subject area courses in application development, DevOps, cloud computing, big data computing, cybersecurity, and IT project management.

This programme is for students who have a keen interest in areas related to Infocomm Technology and wish to pursue a career in ICT.

Prepares graduates to embark on a technical career in areas such as:
