Overview

The BSc Facilities and Events Management programme is a partnership programme between Singapore University of Social Sciences , Singapore Polytechnic and BCA Academy. This innovative programme integrates the fields of facilities management with events management, and seeks to capitalise on the overlapped areas to groom professionals who will perform well in either industry which are very often critically affected by each other, and to ensure flexible career options.

The programme is accredited by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants with relevant diploma from BCA Academy may be considered for admission.
  • Applicants will be interviewed.

Programme Structure

BSc Facilities and Events Management
Students are required to complete a total of 130 credit units (cu) to graduate with a basic degree.

The breakdown of the cu to be completed is:

  • 90 cu of Compulsory courses.
  • 10 cu of General Electives courses.
  • 20 cu of School Core courses.
  • 10 cu of SUSS Core courses.

BSc (Hons) Facilities and Events Management
This programme has an honours option. Students who achieve a CGPA of 3.5 and above upon completion of their basic degree will be invited to enroll in the Honours programme. A total of 170 cu is required to graduate with honours.

The breakdown of the cu to be completed is:

  • 130 cu of courses from basic degree programme.
  • 30 cu of Elective courses.
  • 10 cu Compulsory Capstone Project.

The curriculum is structured such that:

  • Level 1 consists of foundational facilities and events management courses such as materials technology, building services and contract administration.
  • Level 2 consists of core facilities and events management courses such as procurement management, project and operations management and venue and space management.
  • Level 3 consists of advanced facilities management courses such as maintenance of building services and advanced events management courses such as logistics and site management.
  • Level 4 consists of specialisation-track honours courses such as energy efficiency in building for facilities management and special and leisure and attractions management for events management.
The programme is recommended for aspiring facilities or events manager, and graduates with a polytechnic diploma or GCE "A" levels.
Graduates with a degree in Facilities and Events Management will be well-equipped to pursue successful careers in facilities or events/ hospitality management.
