Early Childhood Aquatic Skills provides participants with a toolkit on a range of aquatic activities to be taught in class that are practical in aiding infants and toddlers to build up essential movement fundamentals and basic swimming and water safety skills. The sessions will cover on skills and activities that are age-appropriate across the different age band groupings for early childhood development milestones. Practical in-pool training sessions will be conducted and participants are expected to engage in role play activities in the swimming pool and provide peer critique. Besides skills-based practice, the course will also provide participants with pointers on how to develop lesson plans and the importance of reflecting critically on one’s teaching.
