Synopsis

NPM502 Leadership and Volunteer Management provides an overview of key concepts and skills that are relevant to non-profit leadership and volunteer management in global and local contexts. The course will explore the ethos of leadership in terms of non-profit organisational development and strategy. Students will also be introduced to effective leadership and management practices in the non-profit sector, by exploring crucial frameworks and values. This includes managing team dynamics, personal values and organisational goals. The course will further assess various practices for recruiting, managing and engaging volunteers, and explore how volunteer programmes can be made more effective for positive social change.
