Synopsis

With the prevalence of Information Technology (IT) in business and government, it is critical to understand the potential security and privacy threats of using IT. BUS369 Managing Information Security and Privacy introduces the principles and management of information security and privacy in organisations. As information security is a rapidly changing field, it is important for managers to have a strong foundation in information security principles to secure information assets of organisations today. Students will appreciate that the effective management of information security and privacy in organisations require a multipronged approach through the use of policy, education and technology.

E-Learning: BLENDED - Learning is done MAINLY online using interactive study materials in Canvas. Students receive guidance and support from online instructors via discussion forums and emails. This is supplemented with SOME face-to-face sessions. If the course has an exam component, this will be administered on-campus.
