Synopsis

ADL557 Exploring the Learning Sciences provides students with state-of-the-art knowledge on the learning sciences in higher education. Given the rapid growth of studies and knowledge on the sciences on learning over the past decade, there has been calls to draw on such evidences of learning to inform the pedagogical practices in the higher education and workplace settings. To appreciate this motivation, this course explores the multi-disciplinary origins of the field, its evolution, and the influence of the field on knowledge, learning, and work. The course shows how the learning sciences can play an important role informing learning design, analysis, work teams in the higher education and workplace settings.
